Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my Google rankings when I migrate?
Not if it's done correctly. We create a full 301 redirect map from every old URL to its new Shopify equivalent, transfer all meta titles and descriptions, submit a new sitemap to Google Search Console, and monitor rankings post-launch. A properly executed migration preserves organic traffic. The danger is DIY migrations and cheap services that skip the redirect step.
Do I need to shut down my old store during the migration?
No. We build and fully populate your new Shopify store before switching over, so your old store stays live and takes orders throughout. The actual cutover, pointing your domain at Shopify, takes minutes and typically causes no more than 15 to 30 minutes of downtime.
What happens to my existing customers and their accounts?
Customer records and order history are migrated in all three packages. Because Shopify uses its own authentication system, existing customers receive a password reset email to set up their account on the new store. All historical order data is imported and visible in their account and in your Shopify admin.
Can you match my current store design?
For Starter we apply your branding to the Superstore theme. For Growth and Scale we do a full custom brand design that matches your identity while improving layout and conversion. We don't pixel-match your old design, which usually isn't worth preserving; we build something that represents your brand properly and converts better.
How long does the migration take?
Starter typically takes 3 to 5 weeks, Growth 5 to 8 weeks, and Scale 8 to 14 weeks depending on data volume, platform complexity, and how quickly we receive access and assets. You get a detailed project timeline after the initial assessment call.
Do you take equity or a revenue share?
No. This is a one-time service fee. You own 100% of your new Shopify store and every account we create or configure. No equity, no revenue share, ever.
